They Took my deposit and still have not gotten it back!! - laminated floor


I changed my mind 1 day later-- after being pushed into a quick close, I sent back my forms express mail, having my return receipt signed a month ago and still have not been issued a check back with my deposit.

My check was cashed after the return receipt was signed!!!

We had the sales person to our house for an estimate yesterday. When I asked about the pricing for the carpet that we are interested in, the salesman responded that he'll have to check with the owner for the total estimate. He came back with a number which we felt that is too high. Then he called the owner again, asking for the same thing. Suddenly, they dropped the price by 25%. That really made me wonder, if we didn't ask, would we just get ripped off like that?! They did not provide pricing for each type of the carpet - we were ordering two different brands of carpet. Usually, the stores would give you pricing based on per sq. ft./yard and the brand. They just gave us an estimated grand total. After paying 10% deposit, I started to feel uneasy about this purchase and felt like being rushed into buying the product right there right then. I came online and saw all the compliants about NFD....scary.... I called them to cancel the order this morning and put a stop on the deposit check - Since most ppl are not having much luck getting their deposit back after cancelling the order within three business days, I figure I would rather spend $25 to avoid losing the deposit amount. Next time, I'll check online reviews before I purchase anything this big again....
